Ok, what do i do in real life? I know.. you all think it's fun and games out on the water! My wife and dogs keep me busy. We spend our free time either above or below the water. Snorkeling, scuba, or kayaking in the backcountry. My camera is always with me.. exercising my passion for digital photography. I also work with several motor manufactures as a site/scene coordinator for brochures and/or video. You'll find my wife down at our small clothing boutique in Islamorada. We also enjoy running together.. Every year we participate in the annual Seven Mile Bridge Run.
Capt. Barry also participates in the BTU bonefish tagging project. He is a volunteer for the
FWCC Red Tide Monitoring program and works in conjunction with Berkley University Herpetologist / professor Ted Papenfuss in an effort to learn more about our Eastern Diamondback Terrapin turtles.
"Shooting" wildlife with the long lens...
One of the few times you'll find me on the bow!

Capt Barry Hoffman is an Honorary member of Bonefish Tarpon Unlimited
Capt. Barry Hoffman is a native of South Florida having fished the Southeast coast for over 40 years. Growing up in the small town of Dania. Florida, nights and weekends were spent pursuing any and all creatures swimming. After having moved to the Keys in 1982, he operated a 30 passenger dive boat and worked as a N.AU.I certified Dive Master. After obtaining his 50 ton Masters Captain's license, he worked as a Bahamain charter captain while operating an upscale yacht maintenance company at the Ocean Reef Club in North Key Largo. After intervals at the University of Florida, Florida Keys Community College (yes, there is such
a school) and Florida International University, Barry settled on guiding (fishing being an ever-present hobby) seventeen years ago. A victim of his love for the Florida Keys, its gin clear water and a tourism driven economy, it was the right choice.yes.. that's me at 12 yrs.. always fishin!
